Evan Sharp

Evan Sharp is an American entrepreneur, chiefly famous for being the co-founder and chief creative officer of Pinterest. In 2017, his estimated net worth exceeded 1 billion USD.

Early life

Evan Sharp, born in 1982, grew up in York, Pennsylvania.

He received a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Chicago, before studying architecture at Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Reservation.

Career

In 2009, Evan Sharp and Ben Silbermann got to know each other through a mutual friend in New York. Soon thereafter, Sharp moved to California to work as a product designer at Facebook.

Sharp eventually left Facebook to join Silbermann and Paul Sciarra, focusing on Pinterest full-time.

Sharp designed and coded Pinterest and its grid for the launch in March 2010.

Ben Silbermann

Ben Silbermann is an American entrepreneur, chiefly famous for being the co-founder of Pinterest.

Early life

Ben Silbermann was born in 1982 and grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. His parents, Jane Wang and Neil Silbermann, are ophthalmologists with a family practise in Des Moines.

In 1998, the 16 year old Silbermann attended the Research Science Institute (RSI) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). RSI is an international summer research program for high school students.

He graduated from Des Moines Central Academy and Theodore Roosevelt High School in Des Moines with the class of 1999.

In the spring of 2003, Silbermann graduate from Yale College with a degree in political science.

Career

After graduating from Yale, Silbermann briefly worked at Google in the online advertising group, but soon left to focus on designing iPhone apps with Paul Sciarra – a friend from college. When their app Tote failed to become successful, Silbermann and Sciarra joined up with Evan Sharp to found what would eventually be known as Pinterest.

Paul Sciarra

Paul Sciarra is an American entrepreneur, chiefly famous for being a co-founder of Pinterest. He studied at Yale University, and got to know Ben Silbermann in college.

Sciarra left Pinterest in 2012 to be entrepreneur-in-residence at the Andreessen Horowitz venture capital firm.
